Youngstown Nurses on Strike

Mid-century America was a pivotal moment for civil rights and women’s liberation. Amid these movements, working women felt the strain of being under-appreciated by their employers.
After years of unions being formed by men, women were now building their own platforms to advocate for better salaries and working conditions. One such group was made up of nurses from Youngstown, Ohio.
Our Promise:
Through preserving and sharing, we provide a way for peoople to connect meaningfully with Ohio’s past—the places and the people who came before us. The ultimate benefit is an experience that creates a deeper sense of individual and community identity.

Volunteer: if you need to provide community service hours, are interested in history, and are 18 years or older.
